Conducting Course & Masterclass

Programme description

The EMARS Conducting course is designed for current and future leaders of wind, string and symphonic ensembles, as well as individuals interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the conducting profession. Each student will receive effective training and insight into both theoretical and practical skills through a combination of individual and group teaching dynamics and expert guest lecturers. 

The Program  will run from September 2024 to February 2025. The first two sessions will be held at Dom sv. Jožefa, Celje, while the final three will take place at the orchestras' locations in Stična, Mozirje, and Maribor. The program includes five in-person meetings and two online sessions.

5. Session│24.-25. Jan. (19:00-22:00/9:00-12:00)  The Upper Savinja Valley Wind Orchestra; location: Mozirje

6. Session│13. Feb. (14:00-21:00)  Wind orchestra of Conservatory Maribor; location: Maribor

7. Session│ online — individual arrangement, immediately after the seminar concludes

The given schedule is subject to slight changes. For the 3rd and 4th sessions, which span over two days, there will be an option to stay overnight. During the 3rd session, a practicum will be conducted on the first day, followed by an analysis session on the second day. In the 4th session, there will be two practical sessions with the orchestra. In all other sessions, theoretical and practical aspects of conducting will alternate throughout the day. Please note that the first two sessions will focus on an introduction to conducting techniques and principles, as well as program preparation for the final three practical sessions with our partner orchestras.

The COST and TERMS of PAYMENT

The amount of the total educational program EMARS Conducting (2024/2025) is 550 €.

Passive participation in the educational program EMARS Conducting  (2024/2025) is 200 €.

You will pay for the programme upon receipt of your invoice. In case of an excused absence, the replacement (online) lesson can be arranged individually. We will not refund the amount of the training programme due to your cancellation. By submitting the application, I agree that photos, audio, and video recordings taken during EMARS Conducting may be used exclusively for the archives of the EMARS, on the website, and on social media platforms.



SINJ Summer Music School

Sinj, Croatia

Programme description

Instrumental and orchestral workshops led by renowned professors from the academies of music in Berlin, Munich, Ljubljana and Zagreb are held annually in the second week of July. The project also contributes to the rich cultural and tourist offer of Sinj and its surroundings.
